The Music Never Stopped πŸ’š

"Strangers stopping strangers, just to shake their hand. Everybody's playing in the heart of gold band."
Last year, my two best friends and I made our first trip to the farm. With Thursday's shows being canceled due to the storm, needless to say, I began the weekend with an uneasy mindset. The uneasiness disappeared the minute we set the tent up and could hear "Rosie" by the String Cheese Incident (one of my favorite songs) being played from the main stage. On the way to the main stage, I was overwhelmed by the positivity and love that was being spread by everyone I came across. That weekend, I got to see some of my favorite musicians, like Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart, Santana, Derek and Susan from the Tedesechi Trucks Band, and Bob Weir (my favorite musician in the entire world) perform.
My favorite memory of the weekend was getting to see Bob Weir perform with Billy and the Kids. I can honestly say that that was the night that I truly fell in love with the power of music. I remember standing in awe as Bobby sang "Peggy-O". I looked over and saw that my two best friends were smiling from ear to ear, and the overwhelming joy brought tears to my eyes. Seeing thousands of people dancing and singing to "Dancing in the Streets" with smiles on their faces was by far one of the most memorable and magical experiences of my entire life. My weekend at Lockn' will always hold such a strong place in my heart.
I'm very excited about this year's lineup. I've never been able to see a Phish show, but it is on my bucket list to be able to see Phish perform with my best friend/soul sister (she is probably the biggest Phish fan in the entire world). Sadly, it has been a rocky summer apart due to health issues and other family circumstances, but I know that being back at Lockn' together is just what we need to get our spirits back up. I've never seen so much light and love in one place, and I'm counting down the days until I get to return to the happiest place in the world.
With the division, hatred, and sadness that our country has seen in the past year, I think a weekend on the farm could give thousands of people an uplifting joy and peace that is much needed. Together, we can make America GRATEFUL again πŸ’šπŸŒžπŸ»βš‘οΈπŸŒΈ
