Best festival experience I've ever had.
Lockn 2014 was an incredible experience. I worked through out the spring and summer to acquire a ticket through a work exchange program. I have done this through several different festivals. Lockn by far was the best overall experience I have ever had at a festival. From the food, to the convenience and location of the campsite, to the artist collaborations and line-up, to the vibe of the people attending.
We got there Wednesday night and were among the first hundred cars to get in Thursday morning. I heard horror stories of people waiting ten hours to get in. This was not out experience at all.
The line-up was what originally drew me to the festival. AAB, Widespread Panic, Umphreys, SCI, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Willie Nelson, and The Revivalists, just to name a few. The lack of overlapping set was definitely a bonus.
My favorite two sets would have to be Tedeschi Trucks late night set in the woods, and Keller's Grateful Gospel Sunday mornining service that coincidently convened in the same location. The atmosphere was perfect. The whole crowd seemed to be mesmerized and reeling ever moment in.
I didn't make last years Lockn but I would love to experience the rolling hills of Virginia again. A truly inspiring place!
