Hot, sticky and sweaty
Last night's show was, as the title of my post suggests a dirty one. First set slightly missed the mark for me. It lacked the energy and focus of the band when they are at their best. Song choices felt a bit disjointed and I didn't hear the boys communicating sonically the way they so often do. Second set was a vast improvement over the first. Trey seemed re-energized when they launched into a kickass First Tube. The boys carried on the uptempo beat with a solid Tweezer, followed later by Mike's Song and a very Mike centric version of Contact. Cactus' bass line is always a looming presence in the song but Portland saw him really pushed to the front of the sound. Overall a solid performance to spite the temperature of the venue being only described as jungle like.
