Today in History: Billy Joel Rocks Yankee Stadium
On June 22, 1990, Billy Joel became the first rock act to play at the former Yankee Stadium. The hometown singer-songwriter played two consecutive shows at the legendary ballpark, which were later released on VHS and DVD.
The set lists included fan favorites "Storm Front," "Pressure," "New York State of Mind," "Piano Man" and many more.
Beginning in December 1989 in Worcester, MA and ending in March 1991 in Mexico City, Joel's Storm Front Tour was his longest tour at that point in his career.
