Today In History: Led Zeppelin kicks off MSG run

On June 7, 1977, Led Zeppelin played the first of six sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden. This would be the band's 11th and final tour.
They treated fans to a rockin' 3-hour set featuring favorites like "No Quarter," "Whole Lotta Love" and "Stairway to Heaven." All for between $8.50 and $10.50 per ticket. (No, we're not kidding...)
Take a listen to some highlights from the show below:

Was there for the first and sixth shows. Hearing the pops on the bootleg reminded me that back then you had to worry about M80's flying down from the blue seats at the Garden. If I remember one of them clipped Page's pick hand. I recall seeing blood. Peter Grant pulled them off stage and I could see him bitching out somebody. They patched Page up and he did the rest of the show with a bandage around his right hand. Tough to get explosives in any arena today.

Literally small grenades / fireworks.

There are a few dead shows from the 70s (Springfield and New Haven come to mind) in which you can hear the m-80s exploding during the show. I guess it was a thing back then...
