Warm and cool
Opening act Jason Bartell was MINDBLOWING. The Fang Island guitarist played a double necked guitar with a variety of loops and pedals to INCREDIBLE effect, adding vocals and a bassist/female vocalist on some songs. He was a really tough act for Ice Choir to follow, as their freezing cool synth-based emulation of 1980's era New Romantics seemed plastic-y in the wake of so much realness. I've seen and enjoyed Ice Choir in the past, this just wasn't their night. Headliner A Sunny Day In Glasgow hit a nice middle ground, with bouncy, rockin tunes supported by tight harmonies and raw emotions. Konrad and I had dinner at the club before the show and I have to give five stars to the Thai Fried Chicken and Chocolate Lava Cake! Baby's All Right is fast becoming one of my favorite venues.
