Riot Fest Day 3

3 days of being caked in mud, subsisting on a fried-food-only-diet, restlessly tossing and turning on the floor of a record labels office (hey it was free!!) I don't know how I survived this whole day but this was a great closing day for me. I got to check off a ton of bands I have been waiting years to see.

Kicked the day off with a set from Kevin Devine from back stage. If you haven't yet, listen to his tracks about the Chelsea Manning case. Its important and all too often ignored stuff.

The ever charming ALVVAYS. Great sounding set and the crowd was in love with them.

De La Soul from far far far away

HUM played the same stage as Kevin so we were lucky enough to be able to go back and see the set from there. I missed out on HUM completely growing up, so it was great to see them the same year I fell in love with them.

The band I was (embarssingly?) the most excited to see: Tenacious D! So super great, even the part where they trolled the audience with a flawless jazz performance. I hadn't seen them before this and it brought back all the good feels about one of my best high school friends Dave, who shared my love (and probably introduced me to) Tenacious D.
